WESTERN BOTANICAL SERVICES INC

Incorporated in 1994, Western Botanical Services, Inc. (WBS) provides consulting services to private and public entities in need of erosion control, revegetation, ecological restoration expertise, wetland delineations, and botanical and soil surveys. WBS provides pre-project surveys, project design, construction management, and post-construction monitoring services. WBS associates include engineers, hydrologists, botanists, landscape architects, soil scientists, material suppliers, and contractors, giving us the capacity to design and oversee construction of large, complex projects. WBS is a Certified Small Business and a Certified DBE in California and Nevada.

Julie Etra, MS, CPESC, President of WBS,  has published numerous articles in Erosion Control, EC and Land and Water magazines. Articles focus on innovative soil restoration techniques and plant establishment. With a career spanning over 34 years, she has won 15 awards for project designs from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Washoe County, NV, and the International Erosion Control Association (IECA). She lives part-time in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca and contributes to local erosion control projects, particaulty with the tropical plant Chrysopogon zizanioides (vetiver).
